Unity Addressables Guide (6): Build Pipeline Overview

Addressables is Unity's system for dynamically loading assets at runtime.

The overall flow can be understood in this order: Install -> Configure -> Assign Scene Addresses -> Use.

  1. Install
    Install the Addressables package from Window > Package Manager.

  2. Configure
    Create default settings via Edit > Addressables > Create Addressables Settings.

  3. Assign Scene Addresses
    Mark the scenes you want to use as Addressable in the Inspector.

  4. Use
    Load assets using Addressables.LoadAssetAsync<SceneInstance>(key).
