Reshoring: When Companies Come Back Home
June 19, 2020•Updated Feb 17, 2026
Reshoring: refers to the return of foreign company assets to their home country due to factors like deregulation or reduced labor costs. Also known as "homecoming of capital."
Example: Hyesung Group abandoning their Vietnam production base and relocating to Ulsan.
The opposite is offshoring (leaving a country due to regulations).
Recent news: 94% of Korean companies have no plans for reshoring.
