Haven't written a short book review in a while.

I've been so busy lately that I barely had time to read.

But I wrapped up the pre-startup package prep and Sunday came around, so I rushed through a book.

I've always been interested in OKR.

And this time I got a much deeper understanding of it.

OKR, in simple terms, is about setting objectives and defining the process to achieve them.

It drives proactive action from team members.

Particularly with efficient business communication techniques like CFR, you can dramatically reduce unnecessary meeting time.

So our company is prioritizing implementation.

In that regard, OKR takes a different approach compared to traditional MBO or KPI.

I was curious whether it would actually produce real results.

But seeing representative examples from Google and other major companies both domestically and internationally using it and delivering results,

I decided to stop doubting.

  • CFR: Abbreviation for Communication, Feedback, Recognition

  • MBO: Management by Objectives

  • KPI: Key Performance Indicator
